Corporate Portraits for Creative England
I have worked with Birmingham based Creative England for a number of years on various projects, mainly their corporate portraits. As a creative business in the film industry, they are looking for business photographs of their Board of Directors that reflect what they do, so I wanted them to be relaxed rather than being too formal. The photographs on their website had been changed and replaced and they wanted them to have a sense of continuity across the site. They are based just near Aston University in Faraday Wharf, which is an impressive building inside with a large central atrium. With white walls and plenty of natural light, it made perfect sense to use the location rather than setting up a studio setup.
As a photographer working on location, you get used to working with the environment that you are in. Some businesses have large open area with pleasant backgrounds (like Creative England), whilst other have much more restricted space. My job is to get good corporate portraits that reflect the business and so taking photos within the corporate environment is a great way to show this. It does mean that I have to adapt to the place I am in, but it also often delivers much better photos.
With most business portraits, you have a limited amount of time to shoot. There are usually very few occasions when all the Board of Directors or staff members are all in one place at the same time. And when they do, they do not have all day to spend having photographs taken. In this case I had a short lunch break to photograph all the Board members, plus give them enough time to get some food. It is important at times like this to work quickly and efficiently to make sure you do not interrupt the rest of their day’s agenda.
If you are looking for corporate portraits for your business, please drop me a line and I can talk you through how I can help.
